The staging area
After you capture (by form, batch box, or AI), each entry appears as a staged draft — shown as a small pill with a summary of what it will become. Nothing is in your ledger yet. You can keep capturing; same-property, same-date entries group together.
Editing a draft before you save
If a field is off — an inferred vendor, a missing origin, the wrong hours — click the pencil on the draft to open a small structured editor for that entry type (Trip, Activity, or Expense). Fix the field and save the edit. A dedicated field (for example, a Miles field) means a number can't be misread as something else.
Use the × on a draft to remove it before saving.
Confirming with Save All
When the drafts look right, click Save All. Field Ledger materializes each draft into the ledger as a trip, activity, expense (and derives mileage and asset rows where appropriate). The staging area clears, and your entries now appear in Review and in your reports. Save All materializes each entry exactly once, even if you click quickly.
Editing after it is saved
The Review page shows your saved entries by section (trips, mileage, activities, transactions, assets). Editing happens on the original entry: trips, activities, and transactions have an Edit link that takes you back into Capture with that entry loaded, so you can correct and re-save it.
Your daily entry limit on the trial
On the free trial, you can save up to five entries per day (trips, activities, and expenses count; derived mileage and assets do not). The limit resets at midnight UTC. A live chip on the Capture page shows how many you have left — green when you have room, amber when you're close, and a clear message at zero.
Paid plans have no daily entry limit. See Billing & plans.
